HI,
My order for 4x4 319 L2h2 Automatic transmission, was removed from factory order queue.
Partly my fault, partly the seller. Now it is :stolen: an there is no guarantee to place this order again
Only the 4x4 316 is now available. Ochhh. I was really looking forward to 3l engine. FYI I’m not a big fan of smaller engines. My experience with T5 2.5l vs T6 2.0l (200PS) is not the best
I wil convert this van for very simple light travel \ expedition vehicle.
So my question is, from You who are owners of sprinter 316 or 319 what are the benefits of 316 vs 319
Why some of you chose 316 over 319
Thanks Ivan,.
316 or 319 4x4 pros and cons
Re: 316 or 319 4x4 pros and cons
I prefer the 316 as it is lighter and has a better fuel economy.
In addition it's significantly cheaper.
And the 163hp is good enough for a travel/expedition vehicle.
Just my 2 ct's....

Re: 316 or 319 4x4 pros and cons
I have the 319 4x4.
It is a Hymer Grand Canyon S with a weight of 3.180 kg empty.
Fuel consumption with automatic transmission is around 10 to 13 l on 100 km depending on the road and traffic conditions.
I would not change against the 316.
The 6 cylinder is a smooth, harmonic engine.

That’s exactly the reason why I want 319QE11 hat geschrieben: ↑08 Jun 2021 21:28 I have the 319 4x4.

But as @wolfgangK write 316 is also good for travel / expedition
Re: 316 or 319 4x4 pros and cons
Thanks Wolfgang, and what about power in difficult terrain. Mud, rocks, steep gravel road, when you need “crawling” speed in low RPM. That is the weakest point of my current 2.0l T6. No power from 0. I drive very often through burning clutch.
Re: 316 or 319 4x4 pros and cons
Power for low speed crawling is not an issue with my car as it has a 2.5:1 reduction transfer case, permanent 4x4 and lockers (Iglhaut conversion)....
I can't comment too much on stock 4x4 Sprinters with it's 1.4 reduction, but they definitly have their limits with difficult terrain.
